Dear Parents/Guardians,

Ramadan Mubarak! As we all know, it is the holiest month of the year which reminds us of the fundamental values and sentiments that we all share; worshiping Allah (S.W.T), giving charity/Zakat to others, remembering the less fortunate in society, taking time for personal reflection and renewal.

Students at Sirius College are well aware that Ramadan is a time where Muslims shred a heart of greed and selfishness, and fulfil it with beauty. We all participate in a very profound cause of understanding, giving and helping the poor and needy people. Students at Sirius College have started a Ramadan Campaign to collect some funds for unprivileged people. For this purpose, the following is happening at our school in order to collect some funds:

• An envelope with an informational leaflet has been sent home. This envelope is for your donations and the last date to send this envelope back is 17th of May 2019. Please consider donating (Zakat, Sadaqah, Fidya or Kafarah) which will be used to help distribute food packs to impoverished families, and provide Sahar and Iftar to the orphaned children.
• Students had sold some food from 29th April to 2nd of May during recess and lunch times. Parents were requested to help by sending some cooked food so students can sell it and raise some funds. Thanks to all those parents who sent the food. I really appreciate your cooperation.
• On Friday, 3rd May, school had also organised a sausage sizzle for the students. All the money that was raised goes to charity.

On Friday 24th May 2019, Sirius College has organised an Iftar Dinner for families and friends at G.V. Hotel. The Program will commence at 5:00 pm. Please come along and experience a beautiful time with your family and friends.
